Valentine’s Day has the good fortune of happening on a three-day weekend this year, and for those looking for a little loving, we’ve put together a down ‘n dirty assortment of holiday-themed events. Some provide more steam than others. In the mix you’ll find a screening of Harold & Maude, a paranormal investigation in a historic mansion, a heart-tinged Rubulad party and more. BOOKS: WORD Bookstore Presents: Galentine’s Day
Romance is in the air at this estrogen-fueled Valentine’s Day offshoot. Romance novelists Megan Frampton, Sarah MacLean, Maya Rodale, Tessa Bailey, Zoraida Córdova and their female friends gather together for drinks, spicy discourse, book-matching and “all the naughty bits.” There will also be a raffle with cool prizes.

PERFORMANCE: Andrew Wyatt and Sarah Ortmeyer’s Valium Valentine
Andrew Wyatt is joined by musicians Hisham Bharoocha, Empress Of, Charli XCX, Nick Zinner and more for Valium Valentine, a six-hour improvised durational performance that climaxes each hour with a work Wyatt has composed for the occasion. The performance takes place in the VW dome, which artist Sarah Ortmeyer will transform into a planetarium filled with egg-shaped stars.
