Thee Oh Sees were in full-on assault mode last night at the Bowery Ballroom. The show was the first of three gigs the garage/surf rockers play in New York City this week. They close out their stay at Warsaw in Brooklyn on Thursday (tickets) and Friday (sold out).

Positioning themselves at the edge of the stage, frontman John Dwyer was joined by two drummers, Ryan Moutinho and Dan Rincon, with Tim Hellman on bass. Moutinho and Rincon pounded through the tunes in syncopation while Dwyer repeatedly aimed and fired on guitar. Their unrelenting set ran 90 minutes and included a number of tracks off their new album Mutilator Defeated At Last, which dropped May 18 via Castle Face. You can stream it at Pitchfork.
