Rather than sit around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the seasons to change, House of Vans has decided to throw some summer pre-game soirees at their palatial palace in Greenpoint. Dubbed the Almost Summer Series, the skatepark-cum-music venue has teamed up with A-OK Collective for three shows. The lineup is impressive and includes The Julie Ruin and Bleached on May 9, Parquet Courts, Radioactivity and Pill on May 23, and Pusha T w/special guests on June 13. In addition to the live acts, a DJ will be on hand at each soirée. 

From the looks of things, you can expect the same shenanigans at the Almost Summer Series that you find at their popular summer parties: food trucks, alcohol for the 21+ crowd, an outdoor area for smoking and a warning to get their early because it’s first come, first served until they reach capacity. 

The RSVP for the estrogen-fueled evening with The Julie Ruin and Bleached is already open, and the others are available May 14 and June 4, respectively. 

(House of Vans is located at 25 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Doors are at 7pm and the music kicks off 8pm.)
