Super Furry Animals Played 4Knots Music Festival (Pics), Continue Summer Tour
Super Furry Animals made their only North American stop on their current tour at the 4Knots Festival a couple weeks back. They shared the headlining spot with Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks and put on quite a psychedelic affair. See photos below.
The Welsh rockers are having quite a year. After a six-year hiatus, they decided to return to the road to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut gigs. In May, they played a series of six shows in Cardiff, Manchester and London, and are currently making the festival rounds. Their next stops include Y Not Festival, Forgotten Fields and the Green Man Festival. In addition to touring, the group released a deluxe 15th anniversary reissue of their long out-of-print album Mwng. Their 4th record, Mwng is the biggest selling Welsh language album of all time.
The band are also the subject of an authorized biography by Ric Rawlins. Rise of the Super Furry Animals came out in February. And, a documentary celebrating the group, aired on Welsh TV channel S4C in April.
If you’re in the UK you may still be able to catch up with Gruff Rhys and the gang. See tour dates below as well as footage from their Glastonbury appearance and photos from 4Knots.
