The Strokes are Opening a Pop-Up Shop in NYC

More news to share on The Strokes front. In celebration of the band’s new EP Future Present Past, The Strokes and their label, Cult Records, are opening a pop-up shop in New York City called No Room. Located at 350 Bowery (at Great Jones Street), the store will be a combination record store, installation and espresso bar. It will be open for business from Monday, May 30 to Sunday, June 5. Normal business hours are 12pm-9pm, with the exception of Thursday, June 2, the eve of Future Present Past’s drop, when the store will re-open at midnight for the EP’s release.

Designed to be a fully immersive environment, visitors who enter No Room find themselves in a hotel-like lobby/lounge area with a coffee bar. Then, just beyond red velvet curtains is an abstract multimedia installation by Julian Casablancas and a hotel-like room with original band gear on display. Consulting firm Wallplay worked with the band on the concept for the store.

As for the new EP, The Strokes officially announced its release yesterday. Future Present Past contains three brand new tracks, plus a remix of one of the new tracks by The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti. The new EP is out June 3 and is available for pre-order now via Cult Records. For those that can’t wait to check it out, its streaming on the Cult Records website via Spotify.

The show The Strokes added next Tuesday at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester is now sold out. As for their Governors Ball appearance, GA single-day tickets are still available.
