Michael Moore’s New Film ‘Where to Invade Next’ to Premiere at Toronto
Michael Moore fans will be happy to learn that details have emerged regarding the filmmakers new project, Where to Invade Next. What we know so far is that it will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September with plans for a theatrical release over the holidays.
Moore took to Periscope following the Toronto announcement to field questions submitted via Twitter, but was hesitant to reveal too much. He did say the film has been percolating for a long time and is a satire on the United States at infinite war. He also mentioned that he and his crew travelled to three continents for the picture. You can watch the Periscope video here.
In Toronto’s description of the film, it states “Moore tells the Pentagon to “stand down”— he will do the invading for America from now on.” Sounds like the controversial filmmaker is up to his old tricks. We can’t wait.
Moore’s last feature-length movie was Capitalism: A Love Story in 2009, so it’s definitely been a while for him on film front. This project finds him re-teaming with crew members from past projects, Capitalism a Love Story, TV Nation and Bowling for Columbine.
Today’s announcement comes on the opening day of The Traverse City Film Festival, an annual festival Moore founded in Northern Michigan.
