Matt Groening’s ‘Disenchantment’ Feat. Abbi Jacobson, Eric André Gets a Teaser Trailer (Watch)
There is a shining light among this very gloomy week, Netflix has shared a short teaser for Matt Groening’s Disenchantment. An epic comedy-fantasy animated series set in medieval times, Disenchantment features the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Eric André and Nat Faxon. The first season is set to drop August 17. You can watch the teaser below.
It’s been nearly a year since Netflix announced it had ordered 20 episodes of the Groening’s fledgling show, which follows the misadventures of a hard-drinking princess (Jacobson), her feisty elf companion (Faxon), and her personal demon (André). Groening described the show as being about “life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.” Other members of the voice cast for Season One include several Futurama players including David Herman, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, Billy West, and John DiMaggio, as well as Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), and Jeny Batten. Animation is credited to Rough Draft Studios, who were also behind Futurama.
This has been a big day for Eric André. In addition to the teaser dropping for this series, he also went on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote Mostly 4 Millennials, a show created by Derrick Beckles that André executive produced. Colbert referred to their entrance on this evening’s show as possibly being one of the best Late Show entrances of all time (see below). Mostly 4 Millennials is a quarter-hour show hosted by Beckles that seeks to decipher today’s all-important generation. It premieres on Adult Swim on July 1.
