John Dwyer’s New Synth Side Project Osees Drops Hypnotic Video for “Infinite Columns,” Watch

We have a late entry for the best psychedelic video of 2019. The Osees, John Dwyer’s new synthed-out side project with Mr. Elevator, have shared an animation for “Infinite Columns,” the A-side of The 12″ Synth 12”. You can watch the loopy visual below.

Castle Face Records released The 12” Synth as a limited edition purple vinyl in November, and it promptly sold out. The A-side of the record is the 20-minute jam “Infinite Columns,” with the B-side “Regards to the Monolith.” You can listen to the entire 40-minute album here.

Dwyer tapped Dr. D Foothead (AKA Daniel Foothead) to direct the video for “Infinite Columns.” Known for his colors, flowing forms, and trans-inducing aesthetic, Dr. D Foothead is also behind the videos for the Oh Sees’ “Drowned Beast” and “Gelatinous Cube.” The New Zealand director/animator’s other credits include a short for Adult Swim’s Off the Air Series, and videos for Babe Rainbow’s “Secret Enchanted Broccoli Forest” and Miss June’s “I Don’t Wanna Be Your Dog.”

The “Infinite Columns” visual features a mesmerizing assembly line-like scene filled with yonic imagery. And, the colors in the video modulate to the music.

John Dwyer’s Oh Sees were also selling a limited edition 8-track tape box set. That appears to be sold out now too.
