If Jacco Gardner isn’t already part of your Northside Festival agenda, perhaps the new track he released today will help earn him a spot. “You Have The Key (That Opens The Door)” is another entry in the Dutch master’s sublime portfolio of haunting 60s sounding baroque melodies. The instrumental tune is featured on Trouble in Mind Presents: Eindhoven 2015 compilation and you can check out it out below.

Currently on tour in North America, Gardner recently released Hypnophobia, the follow up his stellar 2013 debut LP Cabinet of Curiosities. The new record, which is on Polyvinyl, finds Gardner mining sounds from an extraordinary range of instruments including a Wurlitzer electric piano, mellotrons, harpsichords, an Optigan, and an antique Steinway upright piano. The result is beautifully woven sonic tapestry that you can’t help but surrender to.

Gardner plays two shows at Northside, he headlines a bill at Rough Trade tonight that also includes Nap Eyes and Heaven’s Gate, and tomorrow he plays the free Green Label Live show at McCarren Park. That show has a very international line-up and also features The Very Best, HEEMS, Irie Maffia (Hungary), OY (Switzerland), TBA (Netherlands) and St. Grandson. Gardner goes on 7pm and you can RSVP for the show here.
