Break-ups are never easy. But, when they’re over contract negotiations, they seem a bit silly. Such is the case with The Simpsons. Word broke last night over twitter that Harry Shearer will not be returning to the show. Will FOX’s much beloved animated series be able to handle it? He was never on camera, so it doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult. Soap Operas do it all the time. Batman’s Catwoman had a couple of lives. However, Shearer plays 23 characters. That’s a whole lot of voices. 

In fact, most of the actors on The Simpsons have multiple personalities. Business Insider posted a handy dandy infographic created by dadaviz that illustrates the madness beautifully. You can see it below. 

We are definitely disappointed by the departure of Shearer, who has been with the show since its humble beginnings on The Tracey Ullmann Show. But, if Two and a Half Men could trudge on for four seasons after Charlie Sheen was given the ax, anything is possible.
