Trick or treat? Halloween is knocking on the door and if you haven’t yet figured out your party plans, we’ve gathered a list of offerings. This is not comprehensive, but rather our picks from what’s going down party-wise in New York City this weekend. We tend to look for budget-conscious options and also tried to leave off the sold out stuff. Happy haunting!

Fear Bazaar
The Upright Citizens Brigade is once again getting in the Halloween spirit with a day of Fear Bazaar. Billed as an immersive theatrical comedy experience that’s 95% cheaper than Sleep No More, Fear Bazaar features some of the UCB’s top improvisers, including Anthony Atamanuik, Shannon O’Neill, Connor Ratliff, James Dwyer, Max Brand, Morgan Grace Jarrett, Julia Kelly, and Yoni Lotan. There will be six performances of the show, with the first one starting at 2pm and the last one clocking in at the witching hour. They’re sure to get more zany as the day progresses. Rebel Rouser Club House Halloween Special
Rebel Rouser record store hosts its annual night of ‘shock rock ’n’ roll’ at the Soho Grand. Dance the night away to all vinyl dj sets spun by Josh Styles, Avi Spivak, Reyes Rodriguez and William Martin featuring garage, RnB, glam, soul, horror, and more. Also on tap, crazy costumes, a costume contest, and free giveaways.

Daybreaker NYC Morning Masquerade
Nothing says Halloween devotion than waking up at the crack of dawn, putting on a costume and heading to a dance party on a boat on a brisk October morning. Daybreaker is throwing one of their signature soirees to kick off Halloween weekend so you can do just that. DJ Alex Cruz will be manning the decks and the official NYC cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show will on board to give the festivities an added kick. Revelers will also be treated to free Califia Cold Brew, healthy juices & breakfast treats.

Supercinema Presents Inferno A Monster Dance Party
Those devilish darlings at Supercinema are up to their old tricks with the October edition of their film-themed immersive dance party at The McKittrick Hotel. This time around they are going full freak to celebrate the greatest monster movies off all time. When purchasing tickets, revelers can chose to go as Dracula, a vampire, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, a witch, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a mummy, a zombie, the Wolfman, the Invisible Man or a damsel in distress. Of course, the venue will be dolled up to recreate some of the Golden Age of Hollywood’s most memorable monster movies, and there will be pop-up theatrical performances, guest DJs, live music and open bar all night long. This party is a little bit on the pricey side, but if you have the dough, it’s worth it.

2MR & The Lot Radio: Halloween at The Mission
If ambient techno is what you desire this Halloween, then head to this concert/party in a church in Greenpoint. Hans Berg [Official] (UFO Station Recordings/Berlin), and Mike Simonetti (2MR) & The Real Cristiano? (analog ambient synth set) will be performing live. Plus his party, which is organized by The Lot Radio, is for a good cause, part of the proceeds go towards renovating the neighboring church’s pipe organ.

JunXion Presents Crossroads: A Haunted Masquerade
If you like a shindig that’s made up of a variety of rooms each with a different musical vibe, then Junxion’s soiree in an industrial-chic hotel that was once a paper factory should be on your short list. You can get down to deep house and ancient rhythms in the Hideout, or let your body pulse to global bass beats in the Room of rRverence. There’s also going to be a speak-easy room offering up jazz and burlesque performances, and the back garden vibe is deep house. Also on the menu: tarot and astrology readings, a haunted house, Occult magick, face/body painting and more. The Transcendence Golden Ticket includes a pre-party and transportation to the soiree from a secret location in Bushwick.

Halloween Extravaganza
Things get downright spooky at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine around Halloween. This year they will be screening The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) with live organ accompaniment by Timothy Brumfield. After the film, the Cathedral’s Nave becomes a haunted house of sorts, animated with creatures of the night courtesy of Ralph Lee’s Mettawee River Theater Company.

Halloween Harvest Festival
A bit of daytime family-and-pet-friendly Halloween revelry comes to Socrates Sculpture Park this Saturday. There will be local vendors, costume making, a performance by Circus Amok, and the park’s annual Canine Costume Contest.

Critical Halloween
If you’re looking for an intellectual Halloween party, then the Storefront for Art and Architecture’s Critical Halloween fete is where it’s at. Attracting a who’s who of New York City’s design and art communities, the annual party centers around a feared ghost of art and architectural production and inspires the cleverest costumes. This year, they’ve selected the theme of luxury. Dancing, open bar, and a costume competition fill out the evening.

Dances of Vice are another group who throw their all into their immersive soirees. This Halloween they have some otherworldly Samhain revelry planned. This one is pricey, so if you don’t have the cash, look away now. After launching last Halloween, You Are So Lucky are throwing another epic victorian-themed masquerade in a 72-room gothic manor built by a copper baron at the beginning of the 20th Century. It wouldn’t be Halloween without a Rubulad party. The weird and quirky underground party addicts are putting their new Bushwick space to use by throwing an indoor/outdoor carnival of souls-themed soiree. There will live performances by The YeahTones, Morricone Youth and Miles Francis, as well as DJ sets by Repoman, Sandy Darling, MeKristo and more. Plus G. Jonathan Toubin’s Haunted Hop and Alana Amram’s Monster Mash are cozying up again this Halloween. This time their double bill takes over the Knockdown Center in Ridgewood. For the first part of the night, a curated selection of Amram’s pals dress up and perform covers by their favorite bands. Among those rumored to be sent up include Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Siouxsie, Slayer, The Damned, Dio and Danzig. Come 11pm, soul dj extraordinaire Jonathan Toubin takes over to spin gems from his collection of Halloween 45s. A haunted house, mind-melting projections, a costume contest, gogo dancers, and a hula hoop performance are also part of the fun. Artist collective CHERYL is throwing another Halloween spectacle.
