You can’t say we didn’t warn you. A Giant Dog is about to wreak some havoc on New York City. Earlier this month the Austin band released their Merge debut, Pile, and then promptly hit the road promote it. If you haven’t already got an earful of the rapturous LP, it’s streaming over at Bandcamp. Or, better yet, hit up one of their shows this week at Cake Shop (5/26) or Our Wicked Lady (5/27) to experience first hand the band’s fury. Tickets are still available for both shows. The Cake Shop show also features Gunfight! and They Live, while the Brooklyn gig is up on a roof and is presented by Indie Shuffle.

A Giant Dog also recently shared a very punk rock video for album track “Sleep When Dead.” Having its premiere on Brooklyvegan last week, the visual centers around a Soul Train-inspired dance contest. It’s directed by Austin filmmaker John Valley and features members of Crash Alchemy, a multi-disciplinary artist collective. You can watch it below.
