Father John Misty Shares Making of ‘God’s Favorite Customer’ Video (Watch)
Father John Misty (aka Josh Tillman) delivered some behind-the-scenes goodness via his Facebook page today. He shared a video that is a montage of clips of Tillman and Jonathan Rado in the studio recording tracks for FJM’s new album God’s Favorite Customer. You can watch it below.
In the roughly shot and cut together video, Tillman is seen recording vocals, reviewing his notes, listening back to tracks, as well as playing drums, tambourine, keyboards and more. There are also several shots of a skull, which is perhaps Rado’s Dreamstar Studios mascot. You can also see that much cigarette smoking went into the making of the album.
In other FJM news, the musician can be seen in Jodie Foster and Sterling Brown’s new film Hotel Artemis. He plays a bank robber that goes by the name P-22. He also recorded a song for the film, “Gilded Cage”, which appears on the film’s original soundtrack and is be available for download on Friday, the same day the film opens in theaters. You can see him briefly in the trailer, which is also below.
FJM is currently on tour in support of God’s Favorite Customer. The album is out now on Sub Pop. You can find his tour dates here.
