Jarvis Cocker celebrates the release of the debut album from his new project JARV IS… by performing the entire record from inside a cave, or as he likes to refer to it, live from the centre of the earth. Beyond the Pale, originally set to drop in May 2020, was finally unleashed on July 17 via Rough Trade. The LP features live recordings and is defined by the Pulp frontman as being an “alive album.”

Jarvis and his bandmates, Naala, Serafina Steer, Emma Smith, Jason Buckle, Andrew McKinney, and Adam Betts, went into a cave at the beginning of July to record this concert. It was filmed at Peak Cavern in Derbyshire by directing team, Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (20,000 Days on Earth).
