The Culture File for August 12-14 (NYC Weekend Edition): Women’s Surf FF, Herzog Retro, Soul Beach Party & More
This second weekend in August is going to be a scorcher. If you’re in the city, best to seek out air conditioning or some bodies of water to jump in. The Olympics continue, as do the watch parties, so does Summer Streets. FringeNYC kicks off today and runs until August 28. You can find our take on what to see here. Heading to a movie theater might be a good move, and there are plenty of great films to see as Sausage Party, Hell or High Water, and My King all opened today. Other options, which you can find below, include a Herzog retrospective at IFC Center, a women’s surf film festival in the Rockaways, or a free show featuring Boss Hog at Union Pool. And, if your looking to party on Sunday, we put together a list of our favorite recurring summer parties. You can check that out here.
