Set Your Clocks, Eric Andre Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! This Week
Eric André returns to the small screen this week. No, it’s not premiere time for Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim. Rather, Eric will be a guest on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! along with Tim Robbins* and musical guest Phantogram. Eric’s appearance on Kimmel’s show will probably be very different from Kimmel’s infamous appearance on Eric’s show. The comedian is sure to use the spot to promote one of his various projects. Or does he plan on officially announcing his run for president as the Cool Party candidate? Read more on that below.
If we were the gambling sort, we’d bet Eric will talk about Bad Trip. His long-awaited hidden-camera prank comedy is having its world premiere at SXSW on March 14. It’s set for wide release on April 24, 2020.
Or Eric might use his appearance to announce Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show. He notoriously busted out of a piñata in a candy skirt on Conan to announce Season 4. So, a Season 5 reveal is not out of the realm. We learned they recently wrapped filming. The show’s cinematographer, Andrew Laboy, posted a glorious photo on Instagram of his crew in speedos to mark the occasion.
And then there’s that run for president. Playboy Magazine recently published an interview with Eric about his run for office as a member of the Cool Party. With a platform of no policies, just attitude, Eric was asked about his potential running mates, religious beliefs, the change he wants to see in the world, and more. You can read the full interview here. The magazine also shot an NSFW campaign trailer that you can view below.
But, in all seriousness, Eric is a big Bernie bro. He phonebanked for Sanders a few weeks ago. He’ll be pulling for him in California’s primary this week.
There is also that business of a birthday party. Eric is throwing a major shindig for himself on April 4th at the Palladium in Los Angeles. There have been a few additions to the Eric Andre’s Bad Trip Birthday Bu’kkake lineup since the initial release. ho99o9, Big Freedia, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Fat Tony are all coming out to celebrate. Previously announced acts include Mike Patton & Qbert, Lightning Bolt, Talib Kweli, Reggie Watts, and Jack Black. Tickets are available here.
*Post has been updated 3/5. Tim Robbins has been added to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest list.
