Block Party, Bears & More, It’s Eric André’s Birthday!
It’s time to deliver a pizza ball! April 4 is the mighty Eric André’s birthday, so we’re dropping a post in his honor. Eric has actually been very busy, plus he’s planning another big birthday bash in Los Angeles to ring in his 36th year. Eric Andre’s Birthday Block Party is scheduled to go down Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Regent. The soiree is open to the public, which means over 1,000 fans will be able to take part. However, you will need a ticket to gain entry, or if you leave Eric a nice voicemail, he might sneak you in.
As far as what our favorite brotendo has been up to the last few months, in addition to touring up a storm, he’s been doing publicity for The Eric Andre Show’s debut in Canada, recording inspirational messages for adidas Originals’ NiteBear, and in March, he premiered a new special on Adult Swim, Krft Punk’s Political Party. Also coming up, Eric can be heard in The Lion King live-action edition, and he completed production on a hidden camera prank film, Bad Trip, which will arrive in theaters in October. Yes, the man has a few things going on.
Who watched Krft Punk’s Political Party? We did! And it was full of surprises. The master of Cheez Whiz pulled out all the pranks. The show featured an assortment of pundits debating various issues. Among the guests were ‘transracial’ activist Rachel Dolezal, Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves, and pro-Trump political correspondent Erin Elmore. Other highlights included a discussion between a birther, a flat earther, and 9/11 truther, and an interview with the President of the Catholic League, Phil Donohue, who Kraft Punk offended when he dunked a cross in a bucket of cheese. If you haven’t witnessed all the goopy goodness yet, hit up the Adult Swim website and check it out. You won’t be sorry.
Oh, Canada. High off the legalization of weed for recreational purposes, our friends to the north are now able to enjoy The Eric Andre Show in all its glory. A Canadian version of Adult Swim launched in Canada on April 1, 2019. Its initial lineup includes The Eric Andre Show. For those not sure where to find the channel, it replaces Action. On the occasion of The Eric Andre Show’s debut, Eric spoke with Vice, you can find the interview here. As for The Eric Andre Show in the U.S., it doesn’t look like a Season 5 is on the horizon. It’s probably going to be “specials” from here on out.
The wonders of science never cease, they have put Eric André’s voice in a stuffed bear’s body. To launch the new adidas Originals Nite Jogger shoes, Adidas came up with the Nite Goods Capsule Collection. Included in the collection are a bedtime book, titled Go To Bed, Sneakerhead, and the NiteBear. The NiteBear is the handiwork of teddy bear company Kumanokoido. And, while the stuffed animal looks cuddly, it’s actually quite fierce. Adidas had Eric record the bear’s voice. When you give it a squeeze, Eric gives a pep talk. Wondering how you can get your hands on one these special bears? Adidas is running the Nite Goods sweepstakes, enter here. The sweepstakes closes April 7, 2019.
Eric also has some awesome gifts coming his way this birthday. Tony Hawk, skateboarder extraordinaire and fellow fowl enthusiast, created a Bird Up! Eric Andre deck. It’s a thing of beauty. Eric posted a photo on his Instagram, you can check it below. It will be available starting tomorrow via Birdhouse.
As for that birthday party, Eric is throwing at the Regent in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 13, he posted a teaser that parodies the Fyre Festival, watch it below. If the party is anything like last year’s Quinceañera or his Bar Mitzvah, it should be insane. Tickets, which range in price from $47.50-$97.50, were snatched up quickly, but you can try the Ticket Exchange powered by Lyte to see if anyone is selling. Eric also invited fans to give him a call, he might be able to hook you up. His cell number is 310-800-1982. Good luck!
