Several bands released records today, but only one is capturing release day on camera and live streaming it on Facebook. The band in question is EL VY (pronounced like a plural of Elvis; rhymes with ‘hell pie’), the new project by Matt Berninger (The National) and Brent Knopf (Ramona Falls/ Menomena). Throughout the day, Matt Berninger’s little brother Tom, who you may remember from Mistaken From Strangers, is filming the bandmates as they travel around Los Angeles and make various appearances in support of their new album is Return To The Moon out now on 4AD.

Just to give you some highlights of what has already transpired, the day started with Matt getting coffee at Starbucks. He then met up with Brent at KCRW and the band did Morning Becomes Eclectic before grabbing lunch at Tender Greens. Of course, along the way there’s been a ton of comic relief. You can tune in on their Facebook page to see where their adventures take them. A stop at Amoeba Records is rumored to be on the day’s agenda. We hope they do this for the entire tour.

Speaking of tour, EL VY start theirs on Monday in Portland, Oregon. They make a stop in New York on November 13 and 14 with shows at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg, respectively. See all dates below.
