Remember how we reported yesterday that Dinosaur Jr. were shooting a music video at House of Vans today? Well, they’ve up and added a free surprise evening show and you’re invited. The party gets underway at 9pm and includes an opening set by New Jersey’s own Screaming Females. There is an RSVP to get in. You can do that now at www.houseofvans.com.

Dinosaur Jr. have a new album on the way. Give A Glimpse of What Yer Not is due out on Jagjaguwar on August 5. Among the bands who were sent an advanced copy and waxed poetic about the new record and the influence Dinosaur Jr. has had on their music in a YouTube video were the Screaming Females. So, it seems fitting that Marissa Paternoster and gang will be the opening act for tonight’s free show.

J Mascis and gang are currently on the road opening for Jane’s Addiction for the Ritual de lo Habitual 25th anniversary tour. After a respite in August they head back out on a headlining tour in support of the new record. All tour dates are below.
