After watching the trailer for Fred Armsien, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers new project for IFC, it’s clear nothing is sacred. The former SNL trio have teamed up to parody some of the world’s most highly regarded documentaries. The series is called Documentary Now! and is directed by Rhys Thomas and Alex Buono, and stars Armisen and Hader.

From the bizarre teaser and episode list, which you can check out below, it looks like they’re taking on Robert J. Flaherty’s Nanook of the North, Albert Maysles’ Grey Gardens, Alison Ellwood’s History of the Eagles, and Errol Morris’ Thin Blue Line, among others.

The series consists of six half-hour episodes and is produced by Broadway Video and executive produced by Lorne Michaels, Rhys Thomas and Andrew Singer. Jack Black, John Slattery, Irving Azoff, Aidy Bryant, Mike O’Brien, Paula Pell and more, make guest appearances. It’s scheduled to premiere August 20th at 10pm ET/PT on IFC, so set your DVRs now. ”Sandy Passage”: Examination of mother and daughter socialites that create a self-imposed world in a dilapidated mansion.
”Dronez”: Guerrilla-style journalists travel to Mexico to investigate a drug cartel.
”Blue Jean Committee”: Classic rock ’n’ roll story of fame, fighting and making music history.
“Kunuk Uncovered”: Exposé on the world’s first documentary about the Inuit.
”Al Capone Festival in Iceland”: Exploration of an Icelandic town’s festival celebrating an American gangster.
”Under 45 Seconds”: Crime mystery about a man sentenced to life in prison for a murder he did not commit.
