Getting in the act with doughnuts and pie, the popular summer spirit gin has also merited a holiday and it’s coming up on Saturday, June 13. It’s actually a global holiday which was conceived in the UK some eight years ago. Thankfully though, you don’t have to swim the Atlantic in order to celebrate World Gin Day, because this year the NYC Gin Society is throwing a tasting festival at Lavender Lake in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Guests can mix and mingle with other ginthusiasts as they sample over 20 gins from a wide variety of distillers including 3 Howls, Ampersand, Old English Gin and Pemberton Distillery. Specialty cocktails are also available. Regular tickets are $60 and gain you entry at 2pm, while VIP tickets are $75 and allow you to start sipping at 1pm. Early birds are also rewarded, the first 100 attendees will receive a tasting glass and a gift bag.
