Capsule Film Review: Undefeated
The Giants may have taken the Superbowl, but the West Memphis Manassas Tigers and coach Bill Courtney will likely win your heart in the Oscar-nominated documentary, Undefeated. Filmmakers TJ Martin and Dan Lindsay follow the inner-city underdogs as they attempt to turn around a decade-long losing streak under the care of Courtney, who tends to be more invested in the team than his own family. In addition to the coach, the film follows the narrative of three teammates, the star left tackle, “OC,” the overachieving lineman, “Money,” and the anger-challenged linebacker, Chavis. And while the documentary uses football as starting line, it’s the inspiring human moments off-field that score the touchdowns.
Undefeated is a The Weinstein Company release.
