Capsule Film Review: Gasland
If you still don’t give a frigg about fracking, we suggest checking out Gasland. Filmmaker Josh Fox’s Academy Award-nominated documentary looks at the communities across the country impacted by natural gas drilling. Fox discovers there are some serious environmental safety and health issues that could be a direct result of fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, the process used to simulate gas wells. But the government seems to have turned a blind eye and energy lobbyists are calling the filmmaker a big fat liar. Worthy of viewing merely based on all its pot-stirring, Gasland is also quite witty and entertaining.
Gasland is an HBO documentary.
