Listen to Re-Broadcast of Bonnie “Prince” Billy & Jonathan Richman WXOX Live In-Studio Concert
If you have a case of the quarantine blues, Bonnie “Prince” Billy and Jonathan Richman might have a temporary cure. Last night, the pair played an in-studio show at Bonnie’s hometown radio station, WXOX 97.1, that was broadcast live. For those that missed out, the concert is being re-aired tonight, March 15, at 8pm ET on Rochester, NY radio station WAYO 104.3FM. You can tune in here.
Bonnie, whose new album I Made a Place is out now, had been on a mini-tour with Jonathan. However, following last week’s shows at Town Hall in New York City (March 9), and College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT (March 11), the tour was cut short due to COVID-19 concerns. Bonnie and Jonathan were supposed to play Montage Music Hall in Rochester, NY tonight.
The Kentucky troubadour has a few more shows on his calendar that may or may not come to pass. He’s scheduled to headline the Brooklyn Folk Festival on April 19 (tickets), and then play two shows at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles on May 14 (tickets) and 15 (sold out). All shows find Bonnie accompanied by Emmett Kelly.
I Made a Place is available digitally and on vinyl via Drag City Records.
