Bon Appétit Grub Crawl Heads to Clinton Hill and the New Chinatown

Bon Appétit Grub Crawl is back in New York on Saturday, May 30 to serve up two tasty adventures for social food-loving butterflies. Fashioned after a pub crawl, this culinary cruise has taken edible enthusiasts on tours of Greenpoint, the Lower East Side and Carroll Gardens in years past. For this edition, they have set their sights on two thriving food hoods Clinton Hill in Brooklyn and the New Chinatown in Manhattan. In addition to some hearty helpings, crawlers get to meet the chefs behind the scenes.

Those that opt for millennial hotspot Clinton Hill, will be out during the brunch/lunch hours. The festivities kick off with a party before smaller groups set out for the remaining destinations. Included in this daytime jaunt are stops at outdoor eco-eatery Habana Outpost, chef Tyler Kord’s No. 7, restaurant-cum-music venue Sisters, popular pizza parlor Speedy Romeo, and brownstone-dwelling The Finch.

The descent into the New Chinatown takes place in the evening and introduces the curious to a variety of savories. Gastrotrotters visit New York City’s first dim sum house, Genuine Roadside offshoot Genuine Superette, the recently relocated Dimes, Sarah Simmons’ southern-inspired Birds & Bubbles, and Essex Street eatery Tijuana Picnic.

Tickets are available here and cover all the food and drinks, and also include a subscription to Bon Appétit Magazine. It may be a little pricey, but trust us, it’s well worth it.

(Bon Appétit Grub Crawl happens Saturday, May 30. Clinton Hill tour is 11:30am-5pm and the New Chinatown tour is 5:30pm-11pm. Tickets are $149.)
