Black Lips, A Place to Bury Strangers Playing Gigawatts Festival 2015, Set Times & Our Unofficial Playlist
Hey kids, it’s time to power up because the Gigawatts Festival returns this weekend. Produced by Brooklyn-based Gigawatts Media, the DIY-rooted, PBR-sponsored music fest invades Bushwick with over 80 bands including Black Lips, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Anamanaguchi.
A more high-profile affair than last year, the 2015 edition runs three days and hosts stages at The Wick, The Well and the newly opened Our Wicked Lady. The schedule is stacked and features bands representing a variety of genres, from black metal to electro pop. In addition to the aforementioned headliners, other highlights include Swearin’, brother-sister rock’n’roll duo White Mystery, Liturgy, Dom, Brooklyn punks Honduras, Surfbort, and up-and-comers Dances. You can find the full line-up in the poster to the right, and set times below. Three-day and single-day passes are available here. The fest is rain or shine.
The event also brings with it free nightly afterparties at Alaska that find bands that are performing at the fest doing DJ sets. Additionally, Our Wicked Lady is hosting an official after party on Friday that features The Black Lips with special guests Rahill & Lenny of Habibi on the decks. For full details on the after parties, visit the Gigawatts Festival Facebook page.
To get you hyped for what is arguably one of Bushwick’s best music events this summer, we’ve put together a playlist. It spotlights some of the bands we think you should catch. Listen up below.
