Best Outdoor Screenings in NYC This Weekend: ‘Friday the 13th’, ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’, ‘What About Me’, World Cup

The warm, dry weather brings more outdoor film screenings to New York City. This week already featured the kick off of more long-established outdoor screening series like SummerScreen in McCarren Park, and Film Forum/Rooftop Films’ Outdoor Cinema in Socrates Sculpture Park. As for what’s still in store this weekend, Madonna comes to Governors Island, Friday the 13th is celebrated and more.

Intrepid Museum’s Summer Movie Series: Friday the 13th (1980)
When: Friday, July 13, flight deck opens at 7pm, movie begins at sunset
Where: Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Complex, Pier 86, W 46th St and 12th Ave

There perhaps isn’t a more appropriate venue to screen the original Friday the 13th than on a boat in the middle of the Hudson River. The Intrepid is dusting off the cult classic on Friday the 13th of July so audiences can get a refresher course on Jason, Mrs. Voorhees, and Camp Crystal Lake. Watch out for any undead requesting permission to come aboard.
