Tribeca’s Free Film Friday Returns for 2018, How to Get Your Free Tickets
Free film Friday is a thing again at 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. For the fifth year, AT&T supports the program that allows anyone, regardless of bank account size, the chance to enjoy quality independent cinema as curated by the fine folks at Tribeca. And, while this is a free for all, we aren’t living in the wild west, you’ll need to obtain a ticket in order to gain entry to the screenings. These tickets will become available on April 4, more on that below. AT&T’s Free Film Friday falls on April 27, 2018.
Last year, those taking advantage of this freebie sat in on screenings of Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story, Get Me Roger Stone, and Azazel Jacobs’ blissful divorce comedy The Lovers. This year’s offerings include Nia DaCosta’s Little Woods, a small-town thriller starring Tessa Thompson as a former opioid pusher trying to get her life straight; Marilyn Ness’ Baltimore doc Charm City; Stephen Nomura Schible’s Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda; Ondi Timoner’s Mapplethorpe biopic; Cynthia Lowen’s Netizens, an investigation into harassment on social media; and O.G., which casts Jeffrey Wright as a prison inmate approaching the end of his sentence. For a complete list of all films screening on AT&T’s Free Film Friday, check out the festival’s film and event schedule here.
To get in on the free movies, just head to one of 14 participating AT&T stores between Wednesday, April 4 and Friday, April 6 to register for tickets. Each of the participating stores will have a representative on hand who will provide access to the free tickets; just pick the films you want to attend by browsing the mobile film guide and entering your email address. Tickets are first come, first served, and in previous years, the offer has been limited to two screening tickets per person to a single film. Whatever doesn’t get grabbed up between April 4-6, will be available online at tribecafilm.com. See below for the list of participating stores.
