What’s Eric Andre up to? Is Season 5 of The Eric Andre Show in the Works?
For fans of Eric Andre’s gonzo antics, there is one question that needs answering: Will there be a fifth season of The Eric Andre Show? The folks at Turner and Adult Swim have been conspicuously silent on the matter. During Turner’s 2017 Upfront, the network shared news of a new series Eric was working on with Derrick Beckles called Mostly 4 Millennials, but nothing was said about the fate of his namesake. However, it does appear members of the old The Eric Andre Show gang assembled in Paris recently. It’s not completely clear what they were doing there, but here’s what we do know.
According to our detective work (and public Instagram accounts), Eric was in Paris in May with director Kitao Sakurai, writer Dan Curry, and cinematographer Andrew Laboy. During their visit, they met filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, who Eric refers to as his spiritual advisor. Eric was then photographed dressed like a character out of Jodorowsky’s Holy Mountain, and the costume appears to have been put together by The Eric Andre Show costume designer Emily Ting (she can be seen modeling the hat here).
Eric wasn’t the only one costumed up. Dan Curry posted a photo where he is standing with Eric dressed as a priest.
There is also a photo on Sakurai’s Instagram in which Eric is wearing a speedo and putting on rollerblades. Hmmm…
On Instagram, when Dan is asked if they are filming stuff, he responds, “a little thing.”
Is this “little thing” for The Eric Andre Show or some other project? We’ll just have to wait and see. Until then, if you’re jonesing for some Eric Andre, might we direct you to a theater near you to catch Rough Night. Eric has a small part in the film.
