If you’ve been craving more Karen O. since hearing her cover of Animotion’s “Obsession”, then today is your lucky day. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman has drafted a theme song for the upcoming video game Rise of the Tomb Raider and its available for download today via Cult Records. Entitled “I Shall Rise”, the song is electrifying. Karen O.’s voice cascades over the track’s gorgeous sonic landscape. Frequent Yeah Yeah Yeahs collaborate David Pajo provided the guitar work on the song, which was produced and mixed by TRZTN, aka Tristan Bechet.

Karen O., who is a new mom, did the song as a one-off for Microsoft. For now, she continues to be on maternity leave from her musical endeavors.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is set for release on November 10, 2015. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, the game is the sequel to the 2013 video game Tomb Raider, and finds its heroine, Lara Croft, traveling to the ends of the earth to find the secret to immortality.
