The Weeknd Is on Fire in “Can’t Feel My Face” Video

This is curious timing. Tom Cruise delivers his best lip sync of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” last night on The Tonight Show, and today The Weeknd premieres his official video for the song on Apple Music Connect. Pure coincidence or highly architected PR campaign? Whatever it is, both parties are benefiting.

For the new video, the R&B singer re-teams with “The Hills” video director Grant Singer. The visual finds The Weeknd on stage at a lounge club singing to a tough crowd. Michael Jackson is clearly the inspiration behind his performance, from the killer dance moves to catching on fire (remember Jackson’s Pepsi commercial?). The man who sets him ablaze appears to be the same creeper who had a cameo in “The Hills”. Check it out for yourself below.

The Weeknd’s third full-length offering, Beauty Behind The Madness, is expected to drop August 28 via XO/Republic Records. Besides “Can’t Feel My Face,” it features now platinum-certified tracks “The Hills” and “Often”. It’s available for Pre-order here.

The Weeknd headlines Lollapalooza this weekend and also plays the HARD Summer Music Festival in Pomona, Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival at Jones Beach, and Budweiser’s Made In America Festival in Philly this summer.
