You can sample the cuisine of Bushwick at a fundraiser for the Obie Award-winning The Bushwick Starr, get some free licks of Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream, or experience the Best Day of Your Life with Thrillist. We present our food event picks for the week of June 15:

The 2nd Annual Taste of Bushwick

Feast on Bushwick’s great culinary fare at this 2nd annual event that doubles as a fundraiser for the Obie Award-winning, non-profit theater The Bushwick Starr. Taking place on Rock Street, Boar’s Head’s private street, the evening features food from Northeast Kingdom, Café Ghia, Tortilleria Mexicana Los Hermanos, and Dear Bushwick, among many others. In the beverage category, you’ll find craft beer from The Sampler, wine tastings hosted by Henry’s Wine & Spirit, and much more. If you throw down an additional $35 over the cost of admission, you’ll walk away with a limited-edition tote stuffed with $200 worth of local awesome goodies. And, following the food fete, guests can hit up the after-party at Pine Box Rock Shop, where Daniel Koren and IMAGINARY TRICKS are performing (a separate after-party ticket is available).

Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream Book Party

Did someone say free ice cream? Well, this event goes one better, because it’s free Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. Laura O’Neill, Ben Van Leeuwen and Pete Van Leeuwen, the trio behind the Greenpoint-born ice cream company, have a new book out and they’re celebrating its release at Greenlight Bookstore on June 18. Published by Ecco, the book includes recipes, as well as the backstory behind the company’s quirky beginnings. Stop by for a discussion of the book and free ice cream samples. Best Day of Your Life (BDOYL)

Forget last year’s Best Day of Your Life, because those culture-obsessed kids at Thrillist are delivering an even better Best Day of Your Life this year. The epic all-day extravaganza involves one-day-only-food-and-drink-fueling experiences at over 15 bars in the Lower East Side. From a Saturday morning-inspired cereal bar with vodka cereal martinis, dumplings washed down with sake bombs, and oyster shucking, this urban edible odyssey will produce a host of delicious memories. The day of feasting and drinking is capped off with an after-party. Tickets are going quickly.
