Last year, LOFT made its first foray into the crowded summer outdoor screening arena with the LOL Movie Series. The program turned out to be such a hit, they’ve decided to crank up the projectors again for 2016. Rooftop Films has returned as the production partner for the series, which will bring laugh-out-loud comedies to Solar One on the pier in New York City.

Sophie Goodhart’s My Blind Brother

With the Ghostbusters reboot hitting theaters in just a matter of weeks, the LOL Movie Series is right in fashion, featuring a strong curated program of female-centric comedies. Among the films are Clueless (July 12), Pitch Perfect (July 19), When Harry Met Sally (July 26), Pretty in Pink (Aug 2), and a sneak preview of Sophie Goodhart’s soon-to-be-released rom-com My Blind Brother (Aug 9), which stars Jenny Slate, Zoe Kazan, Nick Kroll and Adam Scott.

In addition to the films, the screening events include live music, live stand-up comedy by funny ladies curated by the Upright Citizens Brigade, and free drinks. The screenings are free but RSVPs are being taken. Head on over to the LOFT website now to sign up. However, be sure to show up early as seating is limited and is first come, first served. Doors open at 7:45pm. In the event of rain, shows will be rescheduled.
