As we reported back in November, Gambles, aka Matthew Daniel Siskin, enlisted Father John Misty, aka Josh Tillman, to produce his next record. Fast-forward six months, and Gambles has shared the first track from the album. It’s an impassioned love song entitled “Forever We’ll Be.” You can give it a listen below.

This will be Gambles’ third LP, following his deeply personal 2013 debut, Trust, and last year’s more political Vicious Times. It appears he’s going the love song route with the new album. This is currently posted on his website about the project:

“There’s a funny buzz around here, maybe if I paid attention more! I’m alive, very much alive, and living, somewhere between these slave rooms. I just made an album, Father John Misty produced it and we’re finishing it now. they aren’t slave songs, but actually love songs.”

“Forever We’ll Be” is a gorgeous track. It features the artist’s comforting baritone accompanied by acoustic guitar and minimal percussion. If you like what you hear, we suggest following Gambles on Instagram for updates and previews of what the rest of the record has in store.

The Gambles/Father John Misty relationship is creatively reciprocal. Gambles directed the videos for FJM’s “Pure Comedy” and “Two Wildly Different Perspectives.”
