As part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors’ Americanafest NYC, the festival is celebrating the 40th anniversary The Last Waltz, a concert that was billed as The Band’s “farewell concert appearance”. It took place at the Winterland Ballroom and found the group joined by an all-star cast of guests including Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and many more. Martin Scorsese also documented the event and turned into a documentary. Lincoln Center Out of Doors seeks to re-create the musical vibe of that special night and finds the late Levon Helm’s band The Midnight Ramble performing with special guests Bob Weir, Dr. John, Lucinda Williams, Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Anderson East, Howard Johnson, and more. Parker Millsap open the evening.
