If you aren’t already amping up your Sunday game, take this as a warning. Sundays are basically the best day of the week to go out in the summertime, and there are only five of them left before old Labor Day rolls in. 1. NY Night Train Sunday Soul Scream
NY Night Train’s Jonathan Toubin hosts a free soul dance party at Our Wicked Lady’s fabulous rooftop bar. A rotating cast of DJs man the decks and there is also the occasional live performance. Past special guests have included Ira and Georgia of Yo La Tengo, Phast Phreddie, and Chain and the Gang. Always a fun time.

2. Mister Sunday
Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter are the crazy kids behind the long-running Mister Sunday. After roaming for many years, during the warm weather months Mister Sunday is now stationed at Nowadays, a park-like outdoor space on the border of Queens and Brooklyn. In addition to a highly danceable house/soul mash-up, this all-ages party delivers food (vegan options available), soda, sangria, and beer from local breweries.

3. Tiki Disco
This outdoor dance party is the handiwork of Eli Escobar, Lloydski and Andy Pry. It began in Roberta’s garden many moons ago, and now goes down every other Sunday (May 15-October 2) at The Well. Revelers have ample space to get their groove on, plus there are food vendors and a full bar to choose from.

4. Sundays on the Roof
The DJs at this outdoor rooftop shindig change from week-to-week, but the cocktails and chill vibes are consistent.

5. ETE D’AMOUR / NOUVEAU YORK

8. Smiths Night
This party isn’t exclusive to the summer months, but we thought we’d include it anyway. Drawing musical inspiration from Morrissey and gang, this popular Sunday night soiree formerly called the now closed Sway home. Attracting a delicious assortment of the city’s nightlife denzins, it’s been reorganized and now takes place every Sunday night at the Rumpus Room.
